How to Apply for Admission

Admission for Qualifications Completed Outside South Africa

- Conditional exemption certificates are facilitated by Unisa for undergraduate qualifications. A separate fee is applicable for the Matriculation Board to issue the conditional exemption certificate.
- Exemption certificates are not required for master’s or doctoral qualifications.
Application Fee Payment
- The non-refundable online application fee is R135.00.
- Students with an existing Unisa student number for a formal qualification are exempt from paying the application fee.

SAQA Evaluation
- SAQA evaluates foreign qualifications for recognition within the South African National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
- Unisa only accepts SAQA certificates of evaluation.

NQF Levels and Qualifications
- Different qualifications have different NQF levels.
